索利斯 Appointed As Interim President

阿拉莫大学 Chancellor Dr. Mike Flores has appointed Francisco 索利斯, J.D., as Interim President following the announcement that Dr. Naydeen González-De Jesús will begin a new role at the 阿拉莫大学 区 office.

索利斯, who retired from SAC in May 2023, previously served as Interim President from June 2022 to January 2023 when former SAC President Dr. Robert Vela was named president of Texas A&M Kingsville.

“Returning to SAC is really coming home,” 索利斯 said. “I am honored to be asked to serve and I’m excited to work with the team again as we look to the future.”

During a 23-year career at SAC, he served in a variety of teaching and leadership roles.

Key positions included professor and coordinator in the mortuary science program,

Dean for Performance Excellence in the Division of 大学 Services, and Director of Learning Assessment and Review in the Department of Integrated Planning and Performance Excellence where he worked 关闭ly with college leadership to design, 实现, and carry out the strategic plan for the college.

Just prior to his retirement in May 2023, 索利斯 served as Interim Vice President for Academic Success.

索利斯 contributed to the writing and planning of SAC’s accreditation report to the Southern Association of 大学 and Schools Commission on 大学. He has participated in many award-winning applications resulting in major recognitions for SAC such as the Aspen Prize for 社区 大学 Excellence and the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.  

He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin School of Law, St. Edward’s University, 圣安东尼奥 大学, and Central Catholic High School.
